Web console

The daemon serves the console at http://localhost:4122 (the API’s address; --port changes both). It follows the system theme.

The left panel lists every workspace the daemon knows, its namespaces and their resources. Each namespace row has its resource count and a switch that activates or deactivates it, the same as runy ns up and down. A resource row shows its kind as an icon and a note when it is pending or in error. Rows fold with the chevron or the arrow keys, and the folds, like the panel’s width, are remembered.

A workspace row and a process row have a … menu on hover: the workspace reloads its resource files; a process restarts or stops. The same menu sits at the right end of the page toolbar for the selected row.

Selecting a resource opens it at /workspace/<workspace>/<namespace>/<kind>/<name> with two tabs:

  • Output streams the resource’s journal, with a filter box taking the query language (@stderr level: error). The list is virtualized and follows new lines while scrolled to the end.
  • Overview shows the kind, the condition with what the resource waits on or the error, the rendered spec and the published status.

A workspace’s page shows its journal: reloads and diagnostics, such as an unknown field in a spec.

The console is built into the runy binary and served by the daemon, so there is no separate server to run. The daemon’s API is gRPC with gRPC-Web, which is what the console speaks, so the same endpoints are open to other tools.
